Job summary

Capital One seeks a Manager, Compliance Privacy Advisor to mitigate privacy risks within a tech-focused finance environment. This 2LOD role applies risk, process management, and analytics to privacy compliance across business lines and requires leadership and cross-functional collaboration.

The ideal candidate will stay ahead of privacy trends, maintain regulatory knowledge, advise on controls and remediation, and coordinate with Legal and Compliance teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience.
• 6+ years of experience in privacy, compliance, legal, risk management, or audit.
• Master’s or Juris Doctor Degree preferred; 6+ years in privacy compliance, legal, risk management, or audit.

Responsibilities

• Actively follow privacy trends, including new privacy laws domestically and internationally.
• Maintain expertise of applicable privacy laws and regulations (FCRA, FACTA, GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
• Provide guidance on privacy risks of business initiatives and changes; support business lines.
• Consult with legal counsel and subject matter experts as needed.
• Map legal/regulatory requirements to business processes and activities; advise on controls and remediation.
• Engage with compliance testing to advise on privacy matters.
• Review privacy-related complaints and guidance on remediation.
• Prepare and participate in reporting on privacy compliance activities.
• Travel to Capital One locations as necessary.
