Position Summary:

We seek an experienced Privacy Attorney to provide strategic legal counsel on privacy and data protection matters. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in U.S. privacy laws (e.g., CCPA, CPRA, HIPAA), international regulations such as GDPR, and emerging privacy trends. A West Coast-based candidate is preferred to align closely with our operations and clients in that region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert legal guidance on privacy and data protection compliance, including CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, HIPAA, and other relevant regulations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate privacy policies, data processing agreements, and vendor contracts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, compliance, security) to assess and mitigate privacy risks.
• Conduct privacy impact assessments and audits to ensure adherence to legal requirements.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments in privacy law and advise leadership on necessary adjustments.
• Manage responses to regulatory inquiries, investigations, and data subject access requests.
• Support training and awareness programs on privacy and data protection best practices.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience practicing privacy law, ideally with in-house counsel or law firm background.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. privacy laws (CCPA, CPRA, HIPAA) and international regulations (GDPR).
• Strong analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
• Preference for candidates based on the West Coast for time zone alignment and regional expertise.
