Forefront Dermatology is seeking a Surgical Prior Authorization Specialist for our Carmel, IN area clinics!

Schedule:

Monday: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM Kokomo, IN

Tuesday: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM Carmel, IN

Wednesday: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM Westfield, IN

The Prior Authorization Specialist is responsible for managing the submission, tracking, and processing of surgical prior authorizations for patients and providers. This position requires a strong understanding of insurance policies, medical terminology, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

1. Manage daily prior authorizations, ensuring all relevant information is captured, communicating with insurance companies, and managing follow-up processes.
2. Coordinate with providers and medical staff to request information, share authorization decisions, and determine next steps for patients.
3. Maintain records of prior authorization requests and outcomes.
4. Monitor and track requests to ensure timely processing.
5. Adhere to compliance standards and complete necessary training.
6. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting, especially in a patient-facing role, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Understanding of prior authorizations and insurance billing requirements.
• Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proven leadership abilities, demonstrating professionalism, multitasking, positivity, and adaptability.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; ability to learn new software quickly.
• Strong organizational and computer skills.
