Overview

Forefront Dermatology is seeking a Surgical Prior Authorization Specialist for our Carmel, IN area clinics!

Schedule:

Monday: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM Kokomo, IN

Tuesday: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM Carmel, IN

Wednesday: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM Westfield, IN

The Prior Authorization Specialist is responsible for managing the submission, tracking, and processing of surgical prior authorizations for patients and providers. This position will have a strong understanding of insurance policies, medical terminology, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks.


Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day management of prior authorizations, including ensuring all relevant information is captured, communicating with insurance companies, and managing the follow-up process.
  • Communicate with providers and medical office staff to request information, share authorization decisions and determine the best next steps for each patient.
  • Maintain records of prior authorization requests and outcomes.
  • Monitor and track prior authorization requests to ensure timely processing.
  • Adherence to compliance and completion of compliance training.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Must possess understanding of prior authorizations and insurance billing requirements.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience. Must be able to demonstrate leadership by serving as an example to others with regard to professional behavior, handling multiple tasks, maintaining a positive attitude, and in response to organizational change.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. Must be able to learn new software quickly.
  • Must possess excellent leadership, organizational, and computer skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, board, clients, and the public.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.
  • Ability to use time productively and contribute to high levels of company operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
