Job summary

Damar Services, LLC is seeking a Clinical Authorization Coordinator to coordinate and manage prior authorization processes for behavioral health and medical services. You will work with clinical teams, billing staff, and insurers to ensure timely submissions and renewals, while supporting medical authorizations when needed.

The role requires at least 1 year in healthcare billing or prior authorization, familiarity with Medicaid/Medicare programs, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare billing, insurance verification, or prior authorization processes.
• Experience with Medicaid, Managed Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance preferred.
• Trauma informed care and de-escalation training.
• Ability to pass and maintain CPR Certification.
• Minimum age of 18 per licensure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage submission, tracking, and renewal of prior authorizations for behavioral health services.
• Establish and maintain communication with pay sources (Medicaid, Medicare, private insurers) to ensure authorization accuracy.
• Assist with verification of insurance information and prevent billing interruptions.
• Review documentation to ensure required information is available for prior authorization submissions.
• Collaborate with accounting/billing staff to resolve authorization-related billing issues.
• Provide backup support for medical prior authorizations as needed.
