Job summary

Damar Services is seeking a Clinical Authorization Coordinator to coordinate prior authorizations for behavioral health and medical services in Indiana. You will collaborate with clinical teams, billing staff, and insurers to ensure timely submissions and renewals.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in healthcare billing, insurance verification, or prior authorization required
• Experience with Medicaid, Managed Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance preferred
• Trauma-informed care and de-escalation training recommended
• CPR certification and eligibility criteria must be met
• Must be 18+ and have a valid Indiana driver’s license
• Pre-employment drug screen and background screening required

Responsibilities

• Attends mandatory staff meetings and communicates with pay sources (Medicaid, Medicare, private insurers)
• Tracks patient admissions/discharges to support authorization and billing
• Reviews documentation to ensure information for prior authorization is complete
• Coordinates submission, tracking, and approval of prior authorizations for behavioral health services
• Provides backup support for medical prior authorizations as needed
• Maintains timely communication with clinical teams regarding authorization requirements and statuses
