Job description

Hill House Home is a fast-growing, customer-centric lifestyle brand offering thoughtfully designed fashion, home, and accessories. We are known for our signature aesthetic, high-quality craftsmanship, and a deep understanding of our customers’ needs. We are excited to add a Print Designer to our team as our collections, partnerships, and team grow. As our first full-time Print hire, this role will work closely with Heads of Design, Merchandising, and Product Development teams to develop prints for all categories. This role is based in our NYC corporate office (3 days in office).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interpret seasonal concepts and translate them into innovative and cohesive print collections.
• Develop compelling print and pattern stories for all apparel and accessory categories.
• Contribute images, concept ideas, trend research, and print/graphic ideas.
• Research trends/inspiration in the market and assist in sourcing artworks by attending print meetings and shows.
• Clean, color separate, and create colorway options for designs.
• Skilled at hand drawing, painting, and designing original artwork.
• Translate scanned/vintage artwork to repeats, redraw existing vintage artworks when necessary.
• Work with the design team to create CADs that align with design direction.
• Assist with print placement as it applies to bodies, including directing CLO3D files.
• Create seasonal presentation tools for milestone meetings.
• Pass print packages to mills seasonally, requesting sign-offs, and communicating on comments and approvals.
• Understand and work with product development to accommodate mills' print limitations and adjust files accordingly.
• Manage overlapping deadlines proactively and ensure adherence to calendars and timelines.
• Organize and maintain print and pattern archives, both digitally and physically.

ABOUT YOU

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in print design.
• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Understanding of garment construction and terminology related to the job.
• Experience with printing on various fabrications.
• Strong hand-drawing, painting, and original artwork skills.
• Experience in product development and working directly with factories and mills across multiple printing types.
• In-depth knowledge of textiles, fabrications, printing, and manufacturing techniques.
• Highly developed sense of color and taste.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
• Salary Range: $80,000+
