Base pay range

$90,000.00/yr - $115,000.00/yr

TITLE: Senior Designer - Print

SALARY RANGE: $90,000 - $115,000

REPORTS TO: Creative Director

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Designer for Print will work with the Creative Director on the development of Concept, Color, Print and Pattern for the brand. We are looking for a dynamic and passionate print designer who loves product!

TRAVEL:

The Senior Designer Print will travel on an as-needed basis for research and/or development. In-office attendance is expected at least three times per week.

EXAMPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Research market trends.

- Work with the creative director on concept, print and color direction for the season.

- Oversee, manage, and delegate work for the Sr. Associate Designer.

- Develop concepts and sketches for prints.

- Create new original artwork in line with the collection concepts and themes.

- Work from archive and purchased artwork starting points to create layouts and designs for scarves and beach/ resort pieces.

- Create seasonal color palettes

- Be able to work on placed artwork for scarves and also be able to create repeat patterns.

- Create colorways and re color designs to fit within seasonal moods

- Create and manage updates of sketches, CADS, design boards and line sheets.

- Prepare decks and boards for sketch reviews and proto reviews.

- Prepare print tech packs

- Review strike-offs, protos, and sales samples; Provide design comments to factories.

- Manage communication with factories and other vendor partners to respond to questions in a timely manner to maintain calendar from initial proto request through to production approval.

- Collaborate with PD partners on developments and pricing.

- Assist with showroom set-up.

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE:

- Bachelor's Degree in Textiles with a focus on print.

- 8-10+ years of experience.

- Must have excellent drawing and illustration and pattern skills.

- Exceptional drawing and hand painting skills.

- Exceptional taste and eye for color.

- Be able to create beautiful color ways.

- Be passionate about product and accessories.

- Excellent knowledge of photoshop, illustrator and the ability to prepare print ready files for vendors (i.e. knowledge of indexing prints etc.)

- Detail orientated.

- Exceptional organizational abilities with attention to detail.

- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members at all levels of the organization.
