The New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) is seeking a creative, hard-working graphic designer who can design for both digital and print mediums. Reporting directly to the Executive Director of Creative Services, the ideal candidate will manage demanding, highly-visible, large-scale design projects, including citywide initiatives like Summer Streets, Vision Zero, Open Streets, and Car-Free Earth Day. The candidate should be able to present creative concepts to agency leadership, collaborate with stakeholders, and oversee successful execution. Responsibilities include visually communicating safety and transportation projects across NYC DOT channels (print, web, social media), maintaining brand and style guides, designing logos, icons, illustrations, flyers, posters, ads, brochures, banners, signage, diagrams, and reports for various media, creating animations and motion graphics, developing UI layouts and interactive elements, collaborating with developers to ensure design implementation, and optimizing designs for responsiveness across devices. Staying updated on design trends, animation techniques, and emerging technologies is also essential.
