Responsibilities

  • Coordinate print and copy projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Review and prepare job tickets for processing.
  • Operate and maintain reprographic, bindery, and related equipment.
  • Monitor supplies and inventory management.
  • Provide customer service, answering questions and helping resolve issues or requests.
  • Assist with processing invoices, transactions, and billing as needed.
  • Assist with delegating tasks, training, and overseeing other employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Print Center Assistant Manager

Location: Moscow • Division/College: University Communications & Marketing • Department: Printing Services • Posting Number: SP005371P

Position Overview

This position assists in managing the high‑quality production of printed materials that represent the University of Idaho, tells the Vandal story, and reflects a positive image of the brand. The role collaborates with the in‑house creative team and external clients to ensure products meet or exceed University of Idaho quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with coordinating print and copy projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion
  • Review and prepare job tickets for processing
  • Operate and maintain reprographic, bindery, and related equipment
  • Assist with monitoring supplies and inventory management
  • Provide customer service, answering questions and helping resolve issues or requests
  • Assist with processing invoices, transactions, and billing as needed
  • Assist with delegating tasks, training, and overseeing other employees
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Experience
  • One year of operating and maintaining high-speed copiers and bindery equipment
  • One year of preparing and outputting digital files to networked printers
  • Using desktop publishing, photo editing, word processing, and spreadsheet software
  • Working in a customer service‑oriented team to accomplish shared goals
Required Education
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Other
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving university‑owned vehicles
Additional Preferred
  • Project management experience
  • Records management and retention experience
  • Knowledgeable about digital printing, dye‑sub on and other specialty finishing techniques
  • Experience in a cost recovery (charge back) business model
  • Experience understanding and applying mathematical concepts
  • Understanding of purchasing and procurement processes
  • Experience and knowledge running digital presses and working with finishing equipment
  • Experience with business management such as preparing invoices for billing; tracking supply costs; establishing price structures to ensure profit and cost‑effective operations; analyzing needs and developing budget proposals; researching new products and methods to improve production; preparing estimates for clients
  • Quality assurance experience
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
  • Lift, carry, and move material up to 50 pounds
  • Distinguish colors, weights, and textures of various paper stocks
  • Work in an environment with loud noises and odors
