Job summary

Amazon in Seattle seeks a Principal Designer to lead vision across the hiring portfolio, embedding trust and control in AI-assisted workflows. You will partner with engineers, PMs, and researchers to raise the bar for craft, strategy, and cross-product standards.

You will own end-to-end design across Recruiter Hub, Hiring Hub, and Candidate Hub, shaping interactions where AI surfaces uncertainty transparently and supports informed human judgment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required with 8+ years of UX design experience.
• Experience designing AI-assisted or data-driven products with uncertainty and ranked outputs.
• Ability to define design strategy and influence product roadmap at senior level.
• Experience owning or contributing to a design system at scale.
• Proficiency with Figma and prototyping tools to communicate detailed interaction behavior.

Responsibilities

• Define agentic interaction model for AI-driven hiring experiences.
• Bridge probabilistic outputs to deterministic user experiences with transparent uncertainty.
• Set design vision across Recruiter Hub, Hiring Hub, and Candidate Hub.
• Establish design excellence with high-fidelity designs and prototypes.
• Create cross-product design standards and patterns for human-AI interfaces.
• Influence product and business direction with senior leadership input.
• Analyze problems using research and data to identify real issues.
• Lead design craft and mentor team to raise the floor of visual craft.
• Communicate design rationale effectively to executives and stakeholders.
• Ensure strong engineering partnership with machine-readable specifications.
