You will own architecture across frontend and backend components, including CRDT-based multi-user editing, and mentor senior engineers while shaping how AI tooling integrates into the development lifecycle. The role emphasizes performance, observability, and reliability, with a strong focus on system invariants, rollbacks, and end-to-end data integrity.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience designing, building, and operating production-scale web platforms.
• Advanced mastery of modern TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and server-side runtimes (Node.js or Bun).
• Hands-on experience with real-time data models, WebSockets, and collaborative editing (CRDTs or OT).
• Strong SQL and PostgreSQL foundations including schema evolution and access-control patterns.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving complex browser and server performance issues using profilers and tracing.
• Experience running production services with metrics, alerting, and on-call readiness.
• Experience with cloud/serverless deployment, containers, CI pipelines, and multiple environments.
• Daily use of AI coding agents and LLM-based tooling for code generation and testing.
• Clear technical communication and leadership in architectural consensus.

Responsibilities

• Platform Architecture & Core Infrastructure: Own architecture, scalability, and uptime of real-time collaboration server and persistence layer.
• Collaborative Systems & Data Integrity: Design and harden multi-user editing with CRDTs; ensure reliable sync and no data loss.
• AI-Augmented Developer Tooling & Agent Interfaces: Architect MCP servers and pipelines for AI-cooperative development.
• Performance & Canvas Engineering: Profile and optimize interactive rendering, frame rates, and bundle sizes; enforce CI budgets.
• Developer Infrastructure & Monorepo Operations: Lead TypeScript monorepo evolution, CI/CD, testing, and environments.
• Observability & Systemic Resilience: Define SLOs, metrics, logging, and real-time alerting; drive post-incident reviews.
• Security & Access Control: Partner on authentication, authorization, and cross-system access policies.
• UI Engineering: Contribute to product UI in React/TypeScript where performance matters.
• AI Workflow Leadership & Quality: Set standards for AI tooling with rigorous review and testing.
• Technical Mentorship & Governance: Set engineering standards; mentor engineers and lead architecture reviews.
