Job summary

RTX Pratt & Whitney in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, is seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer with turbine experience to lead turbine module design and sustainment within the Hot Section Engineering IPT. You will guide cross‑functional teams, set technical direction, and own critical, validated turbine solutions.

Travel up to 10%, hybrid onsite/offsite work, and mentorship of junior engineers are core aspects. Strong GD&T, Teamcenter, NX, and ANSYS experience are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required.
• 8 years of engineering experience or 5 years with advanced degree.
• 5 years with hardware, blueprints, GD&T, and manufacturing methods.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for access to program information.

Responsibilities

• Lead turbine module design, analysis, and sustainment with minimal oversight.
• Provide technical direction for turbine hardware outsourcing and integration of supplier work.
• Ensure validated, data‑driven engineering solutions with high reliability.
• Collaborate with CTS, MRO‑E, and field teams to interpret data and drive root-cause investigations.
• Support operations by addressing production issues and on-time hardware delivery.
• Represent Turbines in reviews and design boards, providing clear engineering rationale.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote a culture of collaboration and high integrity.
