Job summary

RTX in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, seeks a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer for the Hot Section Engineering team. You will lead turbine module design, coordinate across IPTs, and drive durable, innovative turbine solutions for next-generation engines.

The role emphasizes mentorship, technical leadership, and collaboration with CTS, MRO‑E, and field service teams. Travel up to 10% and a hybrid work arrangement are included; U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required.
• Advanced degree with 5+ years of engineering experience preferred.
• 5 years of experience with hardware, blueprints, dimensions & tolerances, GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Lead turbine module design, analysis, and sustainment within the Hot Section Engineering IPT.
• Provide technical direction for turbine hardware outsourcing activities and ensure quality outputs.
• Collaborate with CTS, MRO-E, and field teams to interpret data and lead root cause investigations.
• Support operations by addressing production issues and ensuring timely delivery of turbine components.
• Represent Turbines in cross-functional reviews and design boards; mentor junior engineers.
