RTX in Tucson, AZ seeks a Principal Systems Engineer – Architecture and Requirements to drive MBSE with Cameo in a rapid‑development environment, focused on missiles, launchers, and gunner training equipment.

You will create and manage system architectures, requirements, interfaces, and verification documents, lead technical discussions with SMEs, coordinate with suppliers, and oversee formal release of CDRLs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM and at least eight years of relevant experience.
• Experience with MBSE and Cameo for requirements decomposition and verification.
• Experience leading architecture definitions and system-of-systems decomposition using Cameo.
• Experience across three or more areas of the Systems-V model.

Job Overview

Principal Systems Engineer – Architecture and Requirements in Cameo. The role is based in Tucson, AZ and is fully onsite in a rapid‑development environment working on missiles, launchers, and gunner training equipment.

What You Will Do

Create and manage systems architecture, requirements, interface definitions & description documents, system integration, and system verification using Cameo by collaborating with multiple IPTLs and SMEs to obtain necessary design information.

Work with Suppliers and the Supply Chain organization for procured items managed through the role of Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) for that Assembly Support flight test activities both in potential field support, telemetry analysis post‑flight, and writing test reports.

Provide SE technical expertise in development, integration, troubleshooting, and failure investigations.

Lead technical discussions, formulate plans of action by leveraging company SMEs across multiple engineering disciplines.

Support Statistical Process Control assessments in the factory and as part of hardware verification of missile sections and launch platforms as well as at higher‑level assemblies.

Lead peer reviews and formal release of CDRLs and Technical Data Package documents.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight years of relevant prior experience.
• Experience working with SMEs, CEs, LSEs, TAs, IPTLs, REAs, and other program stakeholders to make informed technical design decisions.
• Experience leading the definition, decomposition, and verification approach of requirements through specification release using MBSE tools such as Cameo.
• Experience leading the definition and decomposition of System of Systems functional and physical architecture using Cameo.
• Experience in three or more areas of the Systems‑V model.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics.
• Experience with cPDM, CCB, and document release (engineering and formal release).
• Experience with requirements management using Cameo.
• Experience creating and linking requirements, architecture, and verification artifacts in Cameo.
• Experience with system and subsystem level requirements development, design and documentation of system level software architecture.
• Experience in four or more areas of the Systems‑V model.
• Strong communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills with customers, leading technical solutions to complex user needs.
• Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Familiarity with military systems; tactics, techniques, and procedures.
• Familiarity with DoD/DoW customer infrastructure and Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle.
• Ability to travel on occasion (10% travel time maximum).

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD – 204,500 USD. Eligible for relocation assistance.
