Job Overview
Senior Systems Engineer – Software-focused Responsible Systems Engineer for missile programs in Tucson, AZ. Provides software requirements, integration, verification, and validation for fielded and developmental missile systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Update and maintain all system and subsystem level requirements specifications for embedded software, configurable logic and/or test systems software
- Model the system and the system development and production processes using Cameo
- Conduct trade studies and present results to customers
- Provide SE technical oversight during integration and test activities and participate in verification and validation efforts, ensuring all requirements are assessed
- Work closely with the Systems, Software, Configurable Logic and Test teams on a variety of program technical tasks
- Participate in technical conversations with the customer
- Become a knowledgeable and go-to Systems Engineer for the software-centric program capabilities
- Help onboard new team members, mentor, and guide them using core Systems Engineering skills
- Collaborate across disciplines to design, develop and integrate systems to perform the first time and every time for warfighters
- Troubleshoot and investigate failures during development and integration
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and an active transferable DoD Secret security clearance required prior to the start date
- Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM preferred) with a minimum of 5 years of prior engineering experience
- Experience in Systems Engineering
- Experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Requirements Development, Requirements Management, Requirements Verification, or Integration and Test for software products
- Master’s or PhD in Engineering, Mathematics or Physics preferred
- Experience using Agile framework development methods and processes
- Experience with Agile, MBSE, and/or Digital Engineering
- Experience presenting analytical and technical presentations
- Experience evaluating and mitigating technical risks
- Self-starter who can take on tasks with limited guidance
- Customer focus and collaboration skills
- Experience with performance analysis
- Experience with DOORS and/or cPDM
- Experience using Azure DevOps methods/tools
- Experience with MATLAB, C, C#, C++, Python
- Ability to perform trade studies to optimize system performance
- Understanding of Systems Engineering Product Development Cycle
- Familiarity with system safety, reliability, and configuration management
- Experience working in an integration lab, test facility, or in the field supporting integration and/or verification
- Experience evaluating systems using simulated environments
- Experience generating technical documentation such as trade studies, test plans, procedures or technical reports
- Experience in integration with test equipment, telemetry data analysis tools, and missile systems host platforms
