Job summary

RTX is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer for our Tucson, Arizona onsite campus, supporting missile programs in a software-focused responsible systems engineering role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with at least 8 years of engineering experience.
• Experience in Systems Engineering.
• MBSE and requirements development/management/verification for software products.
• Active transferable U.S. government security clearance and U.S. citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain system-level and subsystem-level requirements for embedded software, configurable logic, and test system software.
• Model the system and development/production processes using Cameo.
• Conduct trade studies and present findings to customers.
• Provide technical Systems Engineering support for verification and validation activities.
• Collaborate with Systems, Software, Configurable Logic, and Test teams on program tasks.
• Participate in technical discussions with the customer.
• Serve as go-to Systems Engineer for software-centric program capabilities.
• Help onboard new team members and mentor them with SE practices.

Requirements

• We require a bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics, preferably STEM, along with at least 8 years of prior engineering experience.
• We require experience in Systems Engineering.
• We require experience in Model-Based Systems Engineering, Requirements Development, Requirements Management, Requirements Verification, or Integration and Test for software products.
• We require active and transferable U.S. government security clearance before the start date, and U.S. citizenship is required to obtain one.

Responsibilities:

• We update and maintain system-level and subsystem-level requirements specifications for embedded software, configurable logic, and test system software.
• We model the system and associated development and production processes using Cameo.
• We conduct trade studies and present findings to customers.
• We provide technical Systems Engineering support for verification and validation activities to ensure requirements are properly assessed.
• We collaborate closely with Systems, Software, Configurable Logic, and Test teams on a range of technical program tasks.
• We participate in technical discussions with the customer.
• We serve as a knowledgeable go-to Systems Engineer for software-centric program capabilities.
• We help onboard new team members and mentor them using core Systems Engineering practices.
