Job summary

Northrop Grumman invites applications for a Principal Structural Engineer to support the Sentinel program from Manhattan Beach, CA or Roy, Utah. The role requires US citizenship with an active DoD Secret Clearance and may include relocation assistance.

You will analyze and develop structural specifications for metals, composites and non-metals, perform damage tolerance and loading analyses, and model with CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer, ABAQUS, ANSYS or FEMAP. Team collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in STEM with experience; or PhD with no experience.
• US Citizenship with DoD Secret clearance (active or within window).
• Experience in dynamic and static structural analysis.
• Ability to collaborate in an integrated engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, research and develop structural specifications for metal, non-metallic, or composite materials.
• Assess damage tolerance, durability, design allowables and structural modeling.
• Perform dynamics, loads, stability, and fatigue analyses; use MATLAB for data handling.
• Collaborate with systems, design and test teams; communicate technical content clearly.
• Utilize tools such as CATIA, IDEAS, ProEngineer, ABAQUS, ANSYS, FEMAP.
