Job summary

Fleet Data Centers in Denver, CO, with Seattle consideration, seeks a Principal Structural Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, sustainable data center structures.

You will guide cross‑functional teams across regions, ensure code compliance, and advance innovative structural technologies while coordinating with architecture, civil, electrical, mechanical, and operations groups. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field; master’s or PhD preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in Structural Engineering, with at least 8 years in data center design and operations.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale data center projects.
• Experience with software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, etc.
• Expertise in sustainability, energy efficiency, and cost-saving measures for data centers.

Responsibilities

• Create building and site structural drawings
• Lead the design and development of structural design for large-scale data centers
• Provide structural engineering design oversight throughout the project lifecycle
• Collaborate with architecture, civil, electrical, mechanical, and operations teams
• Ensure designs meet local, state, and federal regulations and environmental requirements
• Drive sustainability initiatives
• Manage large-scale, multi-site projects across global regions
• Work with vendors and contractors to ensure quality and safety standards
• Act as main contact for structural decisions with leadership and stakeholders
• Develop and refine design standards and guidelines to ensure consistency across data centers
