Job summary

Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Principal Structural Engineer in South Florida.

You will evaluate existing buildings, develop innovative solutions for complex structural challenges, and lead projects spanning residential, multi-family, and commercial structures with emphasis on damage assessment and repair related to fire, wind, flood, and impact events. The role includes adaptive reuse and enhancements for occupancy, equipment upgrades, and modernization efforts,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Structural Engineer (SE) preferred.
• 15+ years of structural design experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; BIM experience is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare as-built drawings for existing structures.
• Perform structural evaluations of existing and damaged buildings.
• Develop drawings and specifications per codes and standards.
• Research building codes and identify required upgrades.
• Conduct field assessments in various conditions.
• Investigate structural conditions and determine repair strategies.
• Lead project teams to meet scope, schedule, and budget.
• Produce reports, bid documents, and construction documentation.
