Job summary

Rimkus in South Florida is seeking a highly experienced Principal Structural Engineer to join our team. You will leverage technical expertise to evaluate existing buildings and develop innovative solutions for complex structural challenges across residential, multi-family, and commercial projects.

You will lead teams on projects involving damage assessment and repair due to fire, wind, flood, and impact events, with opportunities in adaptive reuse and modernization of facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (required).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Structural Engineer (SE) preferred.
• 15+ years of structural design experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD required; BIM experience is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare as-built drawings for existing structures.
• Perform structural evaluations of existing and damaged buildings.
• Develop drawings and specifications in compliance with applicable building codes and industry standards.
• Research historical and current building codes and identify required upgrades.
• Lead project teams and ensure successful delivery of scope, schedule, and budget.
• Partner with Business Development by providing technical expertise and participating in client meetings.
• Produce and review technical deliverables including reports, bid documents, and construction documentation.
