Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Palmdale/El Segundo, CA, seeks a Structural Analysis Engineer/Principal to support high-paced development. The role focuses on damage tolerance, durability, and analysis of metal and composite airframe structures using tools like PATRAN/FEMAP and large FE models.

The position requires a BS (or MS) in aerospace/Mechanical/Civil engineering, 2–5 years of aerospace structural experience, and a Secret clearance. Relocation may be available and U.S.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil) with 2+ years in aerospace structural analysis, or MS with 0 years.
• Active USG Secret clearance or ability to obtain SAP access.
• Experience with bonded composite and metallic structural analysis of airframe structures.
• Experience using PATRAN or FEMAP.

Responsibilities

• Provide stress analysis for primary and secondary structure.
• Review analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy and clarity.
• Coordinate with other disciplines during design solutions.
• Present structural issues/solutions to management and customers clearly.
• Maintain and improve designs and systems for production deliveries.
• Develop solutions that are thorough, practical, and align with program goals.
• Evaluate as-built products for conformity to standards and procedures.
