Job summary

Cerence Inc. in the United States seeks a Principal Site Reliability Engineer to lead the SRE team responsible for cloud-native automotive AI platform reliability and observability.

You will define roadmaps, SLIs/SLOs/SLAs, and drive on-call models while maintaining a hands-on leadership stance. You will collaborate with development leaders to integrate reliability into the SDLC, establish incident response playbooks, and mentor engineers across multiple locations for scalable, high-availability

Qualifications

8+ years in site reliability, DevOps, or cloud platform roles, with team ownership

Responsibilities

Lead the SRE team across locations and mentor engineers
Own reliability roadmap and 2–3 quarter planning horizon
Define and govern SLI/SLO/SLA frameworks with high availability targets
Serve as Tier 2 escalation point for major incidents
Champion blameless postmortems and drive production readiness reviews
Drive CI/CD automation and IaC adoption for deployments
Partner with DevOps and platform teams to evolve shared infrastructure
Embed reliability into SDLC and communicate posture to stakeholders
