Job summary

Early Warning is seeking a Principal Site Reliability Engineer to drive reliability, observability and automation across production services. You will partner with Software Engineering to embed resilience and performance throughout the lifecycle.

The role demands deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud architectures (AWS preferred), and incident leadership, with a strong emphasis on data-driven decision making and long-term architectural impact.

Qualifications

Typically 15+ years of relevant professional experience in software/SRE fields.
Experience with one or more modern programming languages.
Experience with software engineering principles, distributed systems, and observability.
Experience with public cloud technologies, preferably AWS.
Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Use software engineering, automation, and DevOps principles to improve service build, test, deploy, observe, operate, and recover.
Identify reliability risks using data, experiments, and rigorous analysis.
Define or improve SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and health metrics.
Improve observability through metrics, logging, tracing, and dashboards.
Drive CI/CD, IaC, automation, incident response, and capacity planning.
Lead incident response and blameless post-incident learning.
Provide enterprise-level technical leadership during critical incidents.
