Job summary

HEO Robotics in Arlington, VA is seeking a Principal R&D Solutions Engineer to act as the primary technical authority for major US Government programs. You will architect and deliver bespoke solutions for national security stakeholders, serving as the technical bridge for US Delivery while guiding non-recurring engineering efforts and experimental features.

As the first Solutions Engineer hire in the USA, you will help build and scale domestic engineering capabilities, initially as a high-level

Qualifications

• 10+ years of space mission analysis, orbital mechanics, or satellite operations.
• Non-recurring engineering (NRE) experience.
• Expert Python for data analysis and orbital modeling with STK.
• Strong technical leadership and startup growth capability.
• Experience with LEO/GEO mission operations.
• Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering/physics/math.
• Active Top Secret clearance preferred; ability to obtain/maintain TS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead technical interface for major USG projects.
• Design and implement NEI data collection and SDA insights via Python.
• Model satellite encounters with STK and Python to optimize sensor tasking.
• Enhance the HEO Inspect platform for national security users.
• Expand GEO mission frameworks and scale LEO operations.
• Ideate and develop MVPs for rapid USG feedback.
• Vet subcontractors' technical capabilities to meet USG standards.
