Job summary

Lockheed Martin seeks a Chief Engineer for a software ground system on a potential National Security Space program. You will define system capabilities, lead a cross-functional team of engineers, and ensure integration and operation of space mission ground systems.

The role requires broad experience in software engineering, development and operations, and maintaining security clearances. The position is contingent on contract award and completion of required prerequisites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field.
• Knowledge of ground systems agile software development and sustainment.
• Experience supporting software cost estimating; awareness of cost accounting principles, techniques, and processes.
• Demonstrated experience as a technical leader, coordinating across multiple teams.
• Ability to communicate successfully across all levels of an organization from entry level to executive Vice Presidents.
• Final Top Secret required prior to start; U.S. citizenship with an Active TS security clearance with the ability to be granted an SCI.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical direction and define system capabilities for the ground system.
• Oversee integration and ongoing operation and improvement of space mission ground systems.
• Serve as primary technical authority with internal management and external customers.
• Drive affordability and ensure proposals have sound technical solutions and schedules.
• Mentor and develop the engineering team and allocate resources effectively.
