Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking a software professional to design, develop, and install advanced software solutions in a on-site Ohio environment. You’ll work within Waterfall or Agile teams, mentor teammates, and ensure adherence to internal standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's in CS/engineering and 7+ years of relevant experience, with emphasis on .Net and modern AI-assisted tooling for development and deployment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field.
• 7 years relevant work experience is required.
• Experience designing and delivering software solutions using modern AI-assisted development tools.
• Proven experience applying DevOps principles across the SDLC, including automation and IaC.

Responsibilities

• Develop software solutions and troubleshoot programming applications.
• Align client goals with software solutions and communicate status clearly.
• Support and/or install software applications and participate in testing.
• Lead software development teams and mentor others where applicable.
