Job summary

Ascensus is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead a high-energy Scrum team, delivering architecture-aligned software with strong coding standards. You will mentor others, drive innovation, and ensure secure handling of confidential data in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, collaboration with Product Owners, and a focus on automation, TDD, and continuous deployment across the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related experience preferred.
• Strong technical leadership skills for design discussions with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience mentoring and technical coaching of less experienced developers.
• Extensive understanding of SOLID principles, data structures and algorithms.
• Strong experience with unit testing, TDD, CI/CD, automation and refactoring.
• Strong experience with Agile SDLC practices.

Responsibilities

• Analyze software requirements to determine best solution and plan in an agile lifecycle.
• Modify codebase to implement complex changes following coding standards and CI/CD.
• Troubleshoot complex errors to determine root cause and resolution.
• Assist with testing and document software changes.
• Collaborate in Scrum ceremonies and mentor teammates through peer review and pair programming.
• Align with Product Owner to influence roadmaps and architectural decisions.
• Drive innovation through technical research and architecture discussions.
• Lead by example and provide feedback on technical/execution issues.
• Protect confidential data and uphold data security practices.
