Job summary

Syniverse is seeking a Principal Software Developer to lead design, development, and maintenance of software across products. You will mentor junior engineers, participate in design meetings, and drive quality through testing and debugging in a Linux environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
• 8+ years of software development experience including design, coding, testing, debugging, and support.
• Strong foundation in Java, Unix/Linux, shell scripting, SQL, and PL/SQL.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, troubleshoot, and maintain software programs and components for new and existing products.
• Modify existing software to correct issues, adapt it to new hardware, or upgrade interfaces and improve performance.
• Research, design, develop, and test complex scripts.
• Perform technical reviews of requirements, analyze source data and provide gap analysis.
• Professionally maintain software and create updates to address customer and company concerns, needs, and design requirements.
• Analyze and test programs and products before formal launch.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software aligned with business goals and operational needs.
• Actively identify ways to improve business software processes and interactions.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve software quality, system performance, business processes, and development processes.
• Support and mentor team members, as well as support leaders in achieving department goals.
