Job summary

Echodyne is seeking a Principal Software Engineer, Cloud Platform, to lead the cloud-native backend for our radar ecosystem. You will shape edge-to-cloud integration, data ingestion, and real-time telemetry, guiding a team of engineers to build scalable, secure services that run at scale across fleets.

You are a technical shepherd who blends distributed systems expertise with hands-on implementation, delivering mission-critical software in a fast-growing, defense-adjacent environment.

Qualifications

• Expert-level proficiency in AWS cloud-native services for high-throughput device data.
• Experience leading backend integrations with edge hardware.
• Strong security focus: authentication and authorization for remote devices.
• Proven track record as a Tech Lead delivering complex backend systems.
• Ability to design cloud schemas that handle intermittent connectivity and bandwidth constraints.

Responsibilities

• Lead the cloud resources that ingest, process, and visualize data from edge radar units.
• Prototype and implement backend technologies to manage radar systems and real-time telemetry at scale.
• Define and lead robust authentication for device-to-cloud communication for security and privacy.
• Collaborate with the Edge IoT team to align on contracts and protocols bridging edge and cloud.
• Mentor the team to raise engineering standards for design clarity and pragmatic practices.
