Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration in Colorado Springs, CO seeks a Principal Engineer Software III to join a team supporting national defense programs. The role emphasizes automation, CI/CD pipelines, and scalable software in a secure environment.

On-site work only with no relocation assistance; candidates must hold active security clearances and are expected to travel as needed to fulfill program objectives.

Qualifications

• Current security clearance and IAT level II or higher
• Active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher
• Active in-scope Government-issued Secret clearance at application time
• Ability to travel to alternate work locations as needed
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Understanding SDLC and Agile methodologies

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance automation, reliability, and system performance
• Designs, builds, implements and maintains CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Jenkins
• Develops IaC and SDN solutions for enterprise networks and documents software tooling
• Creates and maintains automation scripts in Python or Java for DevOps workflows
• Troubleshoots build systems, pipelines, and cloud environments
• Improves deployment processes and operational efficiency
• Generates KPIs and metrics for the Network Enterprise
• Occasionally supports activities outside standard hours
• Performs additional program tasks as required
