Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems- Missile Defense Integration seeks a Principal Engineer Software III to join a team supporting the C2BMC program in Colorado Springs. The role focuses on building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automating deployments, and collaborating across engineering teams to enhance reliability and performance.

The ideal candidate combines strong software development skills with DevOps practices, including scripting in Python/Java, GitLab/Jenkins familiarity, and SDLC/Agile

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field with 5 years of experience; or Master’s degree with 3 years; or 9 years experience as alternative to degree.
• Active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher at time of application.
• Active in-scope Government-issued Secret security clearance at time of application.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance automation, reliability, and system performance.
• Design, build, implement and maintain CI/CD pipeline using tools such as GitLab and Jenkins.
• Develop and maintain documentation for all software, including CI/CD pipelines, architecture, configuration, and tooling guides.
• Develop and enhance automation scripts and services using Python or Java to improve DevOps workflows.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across build systems, pipelines, and cloud-based environments.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment processes, system reliability, and operational efficiency.
