Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join an agile team responsible for building scalable applications across digital channels. The role focuses on an enterprise-wide architectural view and technical execution of products using the stack best suited to the platform.

You will mentor engineers, contribute to design and code, and help drive roadmaps. Experience across Java, Python, JavaScript, and cloud platforms, plus strong knowledge of REST, HTML5/CSS, and modern frameworks,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related field is required.
Master's degree in CS/Engineering is preferred.
9 years of proficiency in design and analysis of algorithms, data structures and design patterns for scalable systems.
9 years of experience with multiple languages and web/mobile tech including Java, Python, JavaScript, and web services.

Responsibilities

Lead resolution of technical and business problems ensuring scalability and performance.
Generate and implement technical solutions aligned with product features and roadmap.
Explore new technologies and architectural concepts to keep products cutting-edge.
Mentor and provide leadership to other software engineers as needed.
Present solutions to team and management to drive implementations.
