Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Systems Sector seeks an experienced Principal or Sr. Principal DevOps Engineer to bolster our team. This role can be staffed at Principal or Sr.

Principal level and is based in Aurora, CO, Morrisville, NC or Sacramento, CA, with relocation support possible. You will plan and evolve infrastructure, automate CI/CD pipelines, and implement standards for build, deployment, and monitoring in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance at time of application.
• Active CI Polygraph at time of application.
• United States Citizenship.
• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience; 3 years with a Master's; 0 years with a PhD; or 9 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Senior: Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience; 6 years with a Master's; 4 years with a PhD; or 12 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• Must have all of the following: AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform
• Security+ not needed to start, but must be able to obtain within 6 months
• Administration experience with Linux or related operating systems.
• Experience in an Agile software development framework
• Experience with at least 3 of the preferred qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan and evolve processes and infrastructure to support rapid capability maturation and deployment.
• Integrate development pipelines with automation, test-driven development, and CI/CD frameworks.
• Define and implement build, deployment, provisioning, and monitoring standards.
• Ensure SCM, code quality, and test coverage in CI/CD pipelines.
• Work in an Agile team to automate deployment, monitoring, and infra management.
• Build and configure delivery environments supporting CD/CI tools.
• Create scripts/templates to automate provisioning and management tasks.
• Collaborate with development teams to automate CI/CD systems.
• Collaborate with vendors and IT for problem resolution.
• Monitor and support all installed systems and infrastructure.
• Develop scripts to increase efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
• Contribute to design of information and operational support systems.
• Install, configure, test and maintain OS, apps and management tools.
• Oversee security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
• Evaluate performance, identify bottlenecks, implement improvements with developers.
