Job summary

Client is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to shape the architecture of a developer compute and virtual desktop platform supporting secure, high-performance AI workflows across cloud environments.

You will drive strategy from design to deployment, partnering with engineering, IT, and security to deliver scalable infrastructure that boosts developer productivity and platform reliability. Remote - US based.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years in software, platform, infrastructure, or cloud engineering.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure services such as EC2, VPC, Azure VMs, and Entra ID.
• Expertise in desktop streaming protocols such as Amazon DCV, PCoIP, or Omnissa Blast Extreme.
• Experience with end-user computing solutions such as Amazon WorkSpaces, Azure Virtual Desktop, or Citrix.
• Familiarity with AI-native development and coding agents for enhanced developer efficiency.
• Strong communication skills with a proven ability to influence technical direction.

Responsibilities

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Software Engineer, Developer Compute Platform to join the team of a leader in the Telecommunications & Hardware space.

This role will shape the architecture and evolution of a developer compute and virtual desktop platform that supports secure, high-performance AI workflows across complex cloud environments. You will drive strategy from design through deployment, partnering closely with engineering, IT, and security stakeholders to define the roadmap and deliver scalable infrastructure that improves developer productivity and platform reliability. The position calls for deep technical leadership in cloud compute, desktop streaming, and end-user computing, with a strong emphasis on performance, security, and cross-functional influence.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $248,000+ annually
