Job summary

Client is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to shape the architecture of a developer compute and virtual desktop platform supporting secure, high-performance AI workflows across cloud environments.

You will drive strategy from design to deployment, partnering with engineering, IT, and security to deliver scalable infrastructure that boosts developer productivity and platform reliability. Remote - US based.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
15+ years in software, platform, infrastructure, or cloud engineering.
Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure services such as EC2, VPC, Azure VMs, and Entra ID.
Expertise in desktop streaming protocols such as Amazon DCV, PCoIP, or Omnissa Blast Extreme.
Experience with end-user computing solutions such as Amazon WorkSpaces, Azure Virtual Desktop, or Citrix.
Familiarity with AI-native development and coding agents for enhanced developer efficiency.
Strong communication skills with a proven ability to influence technical direction.

Responsibilities

Lead the architecture of the company's AI agent compute and virtual desktop platforms from strategy to deployment.
Develop distributed compute services for secure, isolated environments across multiple clouds and regions.
Drive the desktop streaming strategy, focusing on protocol architecture and performance tuning.
Collaborate with engineering, IT, and security leaders to create a multi-year platform roadmap based on AI workflows and user needs.
