Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior software engineer to lead cloud-native development, shaping scalable, secure, and observable platforms. You will own design, mentoring, and CI/CD practices, collaborating across product, support, and services to deliver reliable software.

You'll drive architecture decisions, champion test automation, and mentor engineers while staying ahead of AI-assisted development trends to improve product quality and velocity.

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong experience building and supporting cloud-native applications.
Deep expertise with CI/CD pipelines, automated build systems, and containerized deployment.
Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.
Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and engineering best practices.
Hands-on experience with quality engineering, test automation, and observability.
Preferred: Experience working within payments, fintech, transaction processing, or POS environments.
Preferred: Experience serving as a technical lead or architect on enterprise-scale applications.

Responsibilities

Translate requirements into scalable, maintainable software solutions.
Serve as SME on product functionality, customer needs, and strategy.
Design, develop, and maintain reliable, secure software.
Identify opportunities to reuse existing components and services.
Contribute to architectural decisions and influence product direction.

Coach and mentor developers on automated testing, code quality, and best practices.
Define and drive quality standards, metrics, and processes.
Monitor and optimize automated test suites and CI/CD pipelines.
Review build and deployment metrics and implement corrective actions.
Lead root cause analysis for production and customer issues.
Ensure test strategies, test cases, and product documentation evolve with enhancements.
Advocate for modern engineering standards and disciplined SDLC.
Identify recurring issues and implement process improvements.
Guide observability, monitoring, logging, and diagnostics capabilities.
Leverage metrics and operational insights to identify performance trends.
Stay current on emerging technologies, including AI-assisted development.
Partner with Product Management, Customer Support, Professional Services, and stakeholders.
Incorporate customer feedback into technical decisions.
Resolve complex customer issues and drive enhancements into the product roadmap.
Mentor and develop engineers through technical coaching and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

Technical skills: Golang, C#, Java, JavaScript, React, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), SQL, GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, containerization technologies, Jira, AI-assisted coding and developer productivity tools
