Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States (Massachusetts) is seeking software engineers to build scalable financial product applications and services. You will work across web/mobile apps, APIs, data fusion, and Big Data infrastructure, crafting high-quality code and contributing to architecture decisions.

You will prototype with Angular, Java, and AWS, participate in design discussions, and help grow our product engineering capabilities while ensuring robust, maintainable solutions.

Qualifications

• Solid programming fundamentals including data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with web tech: HTML/CSS, jQuery, and JavaScript.
• Exposure to distributed systems, file systems, data, NoSQL, and SQL processing.
• Experience with one or more of: Java, Python, C, C++, C#, PHP, Objective-C, Swift, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, jQuery, SQL, MySQL.
• Proficiency with IDEs such as Eclipse or VS Code.
• Strong academic performance and interest in financial markets.

• Participate in the design and architecture of new financial products
• Work across the software stack, including web/mobile applications, middle-tier APIs, data fusion engineering, and Big Data infrastructure
• Design, develop, and produce quality software features for product application suites and support tools
• Build quick prototypes using Angular, Java, and/or AWS
• Develop functional, maintainable, efficient, and elegant code following appropriate design and software engineering patterns
• Participate in team-wide code reviews and design discussions
• Build and configure internal automation tools for continuous integration and continuous deployment

Requirements

• Graduate or PHD degree in computer science or related field
• Solid programming fundamentals; knowledge of computing algorithms, data structures, and design patterns
• Solid RDBMS concepts
• Coursework or exposure to distributed systems, file systems, data, NoSQL, and SQL processing
• Experience using web-based technologies including jQuery, HTML, and CSS
• Exposure to one or more web-based visualization libraries
• Demonstrated interest or experience in applied software engineering, web application design and development, software analysis, database design, visualization, prototyping, and experimentation
• Demonstrated interest or experience in Unix/Linux environments, mobile application development, distributed and parallel systems, information retrieval, networking, and/or developing large software systems
• Experience with one or more of: Java, Python, C, C++, C#, PHP, Objective-C, Swift, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, jQuery, SQL, MySQL
• Experience with software development tools such as Eclipse, Visual Studio Code, XCode, or another IDE
• Experience with visualization tools such as DevExpress, Infragistics, Plotly, agGrid, Highcharts, or other JavaScript-based visualization libraries
