Job summary

Amgen seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead design and development of rapid automated solutions across operations, R&D, and manufacturing. You will guide cross‑disciplinary teams, transform process requirements into validated automation, and ensure quality and compliance in a GxP framework.

In this role you’ll collaborate with SMEs, write clear documentation, and support computerized systems validation while navigating Agile environments. Remote work options may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or related field with 5 years’ relevant experience.
• Experience gathering requirements, writing test strategies, and test scripts.
• Automation testing with UFT, Selenium, and Automation Anywhere.
• Programming with Java, C#, VBScript, and VBA for automation.
• Experience in CI/CD with GitLab and Jenkins.
• Familiar with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and GxP regulatory environments.
• Experience with Computer System Validation (CSV) activities.
• Knowledge of Agile software development practices.
• Experience with Incident, Problem, Change Management; RCA and CAPA.
• Documentation aligned with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of rapid POC automated solutions.
• Provide technical project leadership for cross‑disciplinary external projects.
• Translate complex process requirements into automated solutions with SMEs.
• Collaborate with partners to improve workflow, quality, and productivity.
• Document delivered solutions and processes clearly for validation.
