Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior Associate Software Engineer in the United States. You will design, develop, deploy, and support scalable software, data, and automation solutions aligned with R&D Commercialization needs.

You will collaborate with product managers, analysts, and engineers to translate requirements into robust technical designs and production-ready applications. You will contribute across the software lifecycle, including solution design, development, testing, and production support,

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and 3 years of Information Systems experience or equivalent
• Proficient in Python and SQL
• Experience with cloud, data, automation, or enterprise platforms
• Able to deliver moderately complex technical work independently
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum delivery methodologies
• Ability to produce technical documentation and designs
• Experience with API, integration, and data pipelines

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and support scalable software and automation solutions
• Own technical implementation of assigned work streams with cross-functional partners
• Translate requirements into technical designs, data flows, and test criteria
• Develop production-ready applications and data solutions using Python and SQL
• Build data pipelines, transformations, and data-quality controls
• Develop and maintain APIs, services, and integrations
• Contribute to front-end and back-end development using Amgen frameworks
• Build and deploy containerized solutions using Docker, Kubernetes, Rafay and AWS services
• Support DevOps, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation
• Develop automated tests to improve quality
• Participate in code and design reviews
• Monitor health with logging and observability tools
• Troubleshoot incidents and perform root-cause analyses
• Manage application secrets and security controls
• Apply secure coding and compliance requirements
• Prototype new technologies and document architectures
• Identify risks and dependencies and escalate as needed
• Share knowledge and mentor teammates
• Explore AI-enabled capabilities within compliant boundaries
