CVS Health is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer to drive AI-powered innovation across cloud, data and digital platforms. You will join a high-energy team to build an integrated platform powering personalized health information and support for millions of members.

In this role, you will lead strategic technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and partner with product and platform teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions that enhance the consumer health experience.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Software Industry experience.
• 7+ years of experience leading enterprise-scale solution design and technical architecture initiatives across multiple value streams.
• 7+ years hands-on experience with Java, Python, Node.js, Angular, and ReactJS.
• 7+ years experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling and scalable patterns.
• 5+ years designing cloud-native microservices on GCP.
• 5+ years designing RESTful APIs for UX improvements.
• 5+ years of experience with complex systems design and disciplined development.
• 4+ years managing technical, customer-facing applications.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on implementation of reference architecture solutions demonstrating best-in-class user experiences.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, lead POC initiatives, and develop architectural recommendations.
• Develop well-engineered, flexible, resilient solutions delivered on schedule.
• Produce architectural guides and technical documentation for developers.
• Collaborate across levels and functions (product, platform, developers, DevOps).
• Champion user-centric product development emphasizing accessibility, privacy, and security.
• Mentor architects and engineers to foster technical excellence and continuous improvement.
• Define non-functional requirements including performance, scalability, and observability.
• Analyze current architecture and identify improvement opportunities.
• Work with stakeholders to arrive at optimal business and tech solutions.
