Job summary

Salesforce, in its Tableau Agent Analytics team, seeks a Principal Software Engineer to own end-to-end backend architecture and multi-team delivery. You will lead scalable Kubernetes-based services, drive security integrations, and set testing & telemetry strategies across the stack.

You will mentor LMTS/SMTS engineers, collaborate with Product and Security, and define standards for reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software development experience in enterprise SaaS and leading technical initiatives.
• Strong proficiency in Java and/or Python with production-level fluency across multiple languages.
• Hands-on experience designing, operating, and evolving highly available distributed systems on AWS or similar cloud platforms.
• Experience driving threat modeling, AppSec, vulnerability management, and AI safety considerations for new features.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architecture of backend services and full-stack applications deployed on Kubernetes.
• Define SLIs/SLOs, lead on-call rotations, runbooks, and telemetry across multi-team environments.
• Mentor LMTS/SMTS engineers and drive architectural alignment across teams and organizations.
• Represent the team to senior leadership and external stakeholders, communicating trade-offs clearly.
• Champion non-functional requirements and customer trust in product delivery.
