Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Software Cyber Engineer to lead cyber and software security for a ground-based radar for Space Domain Awareness missions. You will define and sustain the software and cybersecurity architecture supporting mission systems and development teams.

The role requires strong secure software engineering fundamentals, collaboration across disciplines, and the ability to translate security demands into actionable tasks for developers.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java, Python, JavaScript, C and C++.
• Knowledge of Spring Framework and Agile methodologies.
• Experience debugging existing software and fixing defects.
• Ability to analyze security findings and draft remediation plans (POA&M).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and security gates in build/release processes.
• Reading security requirements and translating them into developer tasks.
• Experience with Linux distributions (RHEL, Ubuntu).
• Active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, test and debug applications and systems with robust cyber protections.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers and software teams to plan, design and implement system solutions.
• Ensure software standards and security requirements are met across the program.
