Overview

Position: Principal System Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis Engineer / Senior Principal System Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis EngineerLocation: Baltimore, MD – 100% on-site.Relocation assistance may be available. Travel up to 10% of the time is required. Positions require a DoD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain/maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access.

Responsibilities
  • Accelerate delivery of capabilities by applying performance engineering, software integration, and test activities using credible modeling, simulation, experimentation, and analysis.
  • Perform system and software performance analysis across all phases of radar systems engineering, validating simulations against real‑world IQ data.
  • Execute performance-focused modeling and simulation on high-performance computing grids, conduct trade studies, and produce systems engineering documentation.
  • Support software integration and radar mode validation by ensuring consistency between modeled environments and operational data.
  • Link system and subsystem requirements to performance metrics, define and verify interfaces, and support integration and test activities during development.
  • Plan, generate, and execute verification and validation artifacts, including test plans, procedures, and data review packages.
  • Develop and improve performance models, simulation frameworks, and analysis tools, including physics-based radar, threat, environment, and command‑and‑control models.
  • Apply large-scale data analytics, probability, statistics, and design-of-experiments techniques to evaluate system performance and design robustness.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (M&S, software, radar modes, systems integration & test) to diagnose issues, recommend design changes, and ensure performance requirements are met.
  • Prepare and present technical material for internal and external briefings, reviews, and readiness events.
  • Innovate and improve MSE&A products, workflows, and integration/test approaches.
  • Develop advanced graphical user interfaces and visualization tools to explore and communicate performance results.
Qualifications – Principal Engineer
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience, Master’s degree with 3 years, or PhD with 1 year in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics, or related technical fields; additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Current/active U.S. Government Secret Clearance and ability to obtain/maintain SAP access.
  • Experience in modeling, simulation, experimentation, and analysis.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (Python, C/C++), scripting in Linux/Windows environments, and statistics, design of experiments, and high-performance computing.
  • Hands‑on experience with DoD testing and acquisition principles, developmental testing, and weapon test planning and execution.
Qualifications – Senior Principal Engineer
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, Master’s degree with 6 years, or PhD with 4 years in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics, or related technical fields; additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Current/active U.S. Government Secret Clearance and ability to obtain/maintain SAP access.
  • Experience in modeling, simulation, experimentation, and analysis.
  • Proficiency in programming languages (Python, C/C++), scripting in Linux/Windows environments, statistics, design of experiments, and high-performance computing.
  • Deep knowledge of DoD testing and acquisition principles, developmental testing, and weapon test planning and execution.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degrees (Master’s or PhD) in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
  • Active Top Secret Clearance or higher.
  • Experience with JMP, R, or other domain-specific environments for data exploration, visualization, and analysis.
  • Domain experience in RF, EOIR, Communications, or related systems simulations.
  • Knowledge of optimal estimation theory, adaptive signal processing, and system engineering integration & test processes.
  • Experience with Agile and/or SAFe methodologies and optimizing multiple subsystem performance.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and mentoring experience.
