Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal or Senior Radar Modeling, Simulation & Analysis Systems Engineer (Skillbridge) in Baltimore, MD, within the Foundational Systems Engineering department. The role focuses on accelerating capability delivery through advanced modeling, simulation, and analysis of platforms, sensors, and their environmental interactions.

Qualifications

  • Must have U.S. citizenship with active Secret clearance and ability to obtain SAP access.
  • Senior position requires Bachelor's with 8 years, Master’s with 6 years, Ph.D. with 4 years, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in C/C++, Python, Bash or shell scripting on Linux/Windows.
  • Domain experience in RF, EOIR, Communications or related systems.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize modeling, simulation and analysis to evaluate system and mission performance.
  • Develop large-scale data analytics, probabilities and statistics with DOE techniques.
  • Integrate MA/SA with flight software; analyze lab or flight test data.
  • Produce reports and artifacts for Verification, Validation and Accreditation (VVA).
  • Innovate to improve MSE&A products and processes.
  • Perform operational and mission-effectiveness analyses.
  • Develop or integrate system simulation frameworks and algorithms.
  • Model environments, conduct trade studies and recommend architectures.
  • Simulate real-time operations and develop visualization tools.

Job description

Overview

Principal or Senior Radar Modeling, Simulation & Analysis Systems Engineer (Skillbridge) – Baltimore, MD. This role is part of the Foundational Systems Engineering department and focuses on accelerating the delivery of enhanced capabilities through advanced modeling, simulation, and analysis of platforms, sensors, weapons, and their interactions with the environment.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize MSE&A of advanced systems using C++ object‑oriented design, advanced data structures and test‑driven development.
  • Develop large‑scale data analytics, probabilities, statistics and apply design‑of‑experiments techniques to evaluate system and mission performance.
  • Integrate MS&A with operational flight software; collect and analyze laboratory or flight test data; verify and validate simulation performance against real data.
  • Produce publication‑quality reports defining the foundation for simulation credibility and provide artifacts to support formal Verification, Validation and Accreditation (VVA).
  • Innovate to solve problems and identify improvements across MSE&A products.
  • Perform operational analysis and mission‑effectiveness analysis.
  • Develop new or integrate existing system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models and command‑and‑control models.
  • Model operational environments, conduct trade studies via simulation and recommend alternative architectures.
  • Simulate real‑time operations and develop software that simulates system behavior.
  • Develop, integrate and use advanced graphical user interfaces and visualization tools.
Qualifications
  • U.S. citizenship; current active Secret clearance and ability to obtain Special Access Program (SAP) access.
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience (or Master’s with 3 years, Ph.D. with 1 year, or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree).
  • For the Senior position: Bachelor’s with 8 years, Master’s with 6 years, Ph.D. with 4 years, or 4 years of additional experience.
  • Experience with C/C++, Python, Bash or C shell scripting on Linux and Windows.
  • Domain experience in simulations of RF, EOIR, Communications or related systems.
  • Experience with digital signal processing, complex‑valued signal data, and MATLAB‑based analytical modeling.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active Top‑Secret clearance or higher.
  • Advanced degrees in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related fields.
  • Experience with MSE&A, real‑time or reactive simulation software development.
  • Knowledge of statistics, design of experiments, descriptive/diagnostic/predictive/prescriptive analytics, high‑performance computing.
  • Experience with adaptive signal processing, optimal estimation theory, System Engineering and Integration & Test processes, DPC, CUDA, OpenCL, Verilog, VHDL, or other domain‑specific languages.
  • Experience with Agile or SAFe methodologies.
Salary Range

Primary Level: $108,800.00 – $163,200.00. Secondary Level: $135,800.00 – $203,600.00.
