Job Overview

Northrop Grumman Mission System’s Engineering and Sciences (E&S) Baltimore and Partnered Sites (BaPs) Division seeks a Principal Radar Modeling Simulation & Analysis Systems Engineer or Senior Principal Radar Modeling Simulation & Analysis Systems Engineer for a full‑time on‑site role in Baltimore, MD.

Responsibilities
  • Accelerate delivery of capabilities by developing advanced models and simulations of platforms, sensors, weapons, and their interactions with the environment.
  • Utilize Modeling, Simulation, Experimentation & Analysis (MSE&A) with C++ object‑oriented design, advanced data structures and test‑driven development.
  • Develop large‑scale data analytics, probabilities, and statistics, including design‑of‑experiment techniques for evaluating system and mission performance.
  • Integrate MSE&A with operational flight software; collect and analyze laboratory or flight test data; verify and validate simulation performance against flight test data; formally verify that models meet specified requirements.
  • Produce publication‑quality reports that establish simulation credibility and provide artifacts for formal Simulation Verification, Validation & Accreditation (VVA).
  • Innovate to solve problems and identify improvements across MSE&A products.
  • Perform operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis.
  • Develop new or integrate existing system simulation frameworks, performance models and algorithms, threat models and command‑and‑control models.
  • Model operational environments, conduct trade studies by computer simulation, and recommend alternative architectures.
  • Simulate real‑time operations and develop software that simulates the behavior of systems.
  • Develop, integrate, and use advanced graphical user interface and visualization tools.
Basic Qualifications (Principal)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field with at least 5 years of experience.
  • Alternate: Master’s Degree with at least 3 years of experience.
  • Alternate: Ph.D. with at least 1 year of experience.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Current/active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access.
  • Programming experience: C/C++, Python, Bash or C shell scripting on Linux and Windows.
  • Domain experience in simulations of RF, EOIR, communications or related systems.
  • Experience with digital signal processing and complex‑valued signal data.
  • Experience with analytical modeling using MATLAB.
Basic Qualifications (Senior Principal)
  • Bachelor’s Degree with at least 8 years of experience.
  • Alternate: Master’s Degree with at least 6 years of experience.
  • Alternate: Ph.D. with at least 4 years of experience.
  • U.S. citizenship.
  • Current/active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access.
  • Programming experience: C/C++, Python, Bash or C shell scripting on Linux and Windows.
  • Domain experience in simulations of RF, EOIR, communications or related systems.
  • Experience with digital signal processing and complex‑valued signal data.
  • Experience with analytical modeling using MATLAB.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance or higher.
  • Advanced degrees in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics or related field.
  • Experience with real‑time or reactive simulation software development.
  • Experience with statistics, design of experiments, descriptive/diagnostic/predictive/prescriptive analytics, or high‑performance computing.
  • Experience developing and validating radar modes.
  • Experience with adaptive signal processing or optimal estimation theory.
  • Understanding of systems engineering, integration and test processes.
  • Experience with DPC, CUDA, OpenCL, Verilog, VHDL or other domain‑specific languages.
  • Experience with Agile or SAFe methodologies.

Primary salary range: $108,800.00 – $163,200.00.Secondary salary range: $135,800.00 – $203,600.00.
