Job Summary
Principal / Senior Principal Mission Engineering Systems Engineer – Baltimore, MD. 100% on‑site work. This position requires a U.S. Government Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) access. The role is contingent upon contract award and successful transfer of clearance.
What You Will Get to Do
- Apply Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) techniques to accelerate delivery of capabilities via mission studies, system‑of‑system trades, and performance analysis.
- Perform analysis‑of‑alternatives and mission architecture trades across offensive and defensive orders of battle, formations, and equipment, including sensor and weapons loadouts and command, control, and communications segments.
- Utilize MSE&A frameworks to evaluate Concepts of Employments (CONEMPS), Concepts of Operations (CONOPS), and Design Reference Missions (DRM) to influence system design and optimization.
- Link system requirements to mission threads; establish operative interfaces and conduct verification/validation planning of system elements during development.
- Plan and deliver demonstration of mission effects, data, or capabilities during operations, and provide long‑term sustainment support.
- Develop large‑scale data analytics, probabilities, and statistics; apply design of experiments techniques to evaluate system and mission performance.
- Innovate problem‑solving and identify improvements across MSE&A products.
- Conduct operational and mission effectiveness analysis; develop or integrate simulation frameworks, performance models, algorithms, threat models, and command‑and‑control models.
- Model operational environments, perform trade studies via computer simulation, and recommend alternative architectures.
- Develop, integrate, and use advanced graphical user interfaces and visualization tools.
Qualifications
- Principal Mission Engineering Systems Engineer: Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 3 years, or Ph.D. with 1 year, in STEM or related fields; 4 additional years may substitute for a degree. U.S. citizenship required. Must hold an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance and be able to obtain SAP access.
- Senior Principal Mission Engineering Systems Engineer: Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of experience, or Master’s degree with 6 years, or Ph.D. with 4 years, in STEM or related fields; 4 additional years may substitute for a degree. U.S. citizenship required. Must hold an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance and be able to obtain SAP access.
- Experience in modeling, simulation, experimentation, and analysis for operations, including use of MATLAB, STK, or similar analytical modeling tools.
- Proficiency with combat simulation environments such as AFSIM and/or Brawler.
- Programming skills in Python, C/C++, and scripting in Linux/Windows environments; strong background in statistics, design of experiments, and high‑performance computing.
- Experience with DoD testing and acquisition principles, including developmental testing, planning, and execution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degrees (Master’s or Ph.D.) in STEM.
- Active Top Secret Clearance or higher.
- Experience with JMP, R, or other data exploration, visualization, and statistical analysis tools.
- Domain expertise in simulations of RF, EOIR, communications, or related systems.
- Understanding of Systems Engineering and Integration & Test processes.
- Experience with Agile and/or SAFe methodologies.

Salary
Primary Level Range: $108,800.00 – $163,200.00
Secondary Level Range: $135,800.00 – $203,600.00
