Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a Principal Engineer, Semiconductor Technical Lead in Andover, MA to join our III-V process development team. You will lead the development of gallium arsenide and gallium nitride devices, MMICs, and focal plane arrays, driving reliability and device performance across multiple engineering centers.

The role requires a strong background in microelectronics processing, data analysis, and cross-functional leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience in semiconductor processing techniques including photolithography, dry etching, wet chemistry, metals evaporation, sputtering and backside processing (also knowledge of III-V device characteristics), and/or MMIC performance

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage independent and contract R&D projects.
• Develop process development and yield improvement ideas with Advanced Technology program teams.
• Provide SME on yield drivers in the semiconductor foundry and MMIC yield loss at next higher-level assembly.
• Develop a semiconductor technology roadmap to identify next-gen process technologies and gaps in equipment capabilities.
• Drive transition-to-production initiatives and bridge process development with MMIC sustainment.
• Create and maintain schedules for process development and yield initiatives to meet deadlines.
• Communicate project status and root-cause investigations to senior leadership and customers.
• Collaborate with MMIC and module design teams to enable product performance.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to understand process interaction with MMIC performance and reliability.
• Manage engineering investments to meet program cost, schedule, and capacity goals.
