Overview

CAES - Mission Systems is a leading supplier of integrated RF solutions and high power, solid state broadband transmitters for EW and Radar applications. We also design and manufacture antennas and precision positioners for various high-performance applications.

Our Woburn MA location is hiring a Senior Test Engineer to design, develop, and implement test software and techniques supporting integration, qualification, and acceptance testing of electronic assemblies and systems.

Our engineering team includes over 100 professionals across systems, software, RF, power amplifier, antenna, mechanical, reliability, and test engineering. Reporting to the Test Engineering Manager, the ideal candidate has a strong engineering and programming background in testing diverse products throughout the product lifecycle. Experience working across functions in a matrix organization is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide test software engineering expertise and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
• Design, develop, and implement robust test software solutions for complex RF subsystems and assemblies.
• Implement hardware/software protocols and engineering tools for new product development.
• Develop application test software for multi-board/processor systems with FPGAs and CPUs.
• Create intuitive communication interfaces between equipment and users.
• Develop and evaluate new testing techniques, plans, and procedures.
• Perform technical assignments requiring minimal supervision.
• Interface directly with customers to support design compliance.
• Support testing outside normal processes, including creating test setups and procedures.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• BSc in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Experience testing RF components such as switches, amplifiers, converters.
• Proficiency with RF test equipment like Signal Generators, Network Analyzers, Power meters.
• Familiarity with microwave and millimeter wave RF signals.
• At least 3 years of experience with LabView.
• 8+ years of experience in designing and implementing detailed test strategies for electronic assemblies.
• 2+ years developing automated test scripts/programs.
• Eligibility to access controlled technology under US export laws and ability to obtain security clearance.

Preferred:

• 10+ years developing automated test scripts/programs.
• Experience with Microsoft .Net (C++, C#, VB).
• Knowledge of configuration management tools like SVN, GIT, or ClearCase.
• Proficiency in automating acceptance tests using VB.NET.
• Experience with software drivers and hardware interfaces (TCPIP, UDP, RS-422, USB, PCI, CAN).
• Familiarity with DoD security procedures and active DOD SECRET clearance.

Salary Range: Principal Software Test Engineer: $118,701.65 - $178,052.48. Compensation varies based on location, education, and experience.
