Job summary

RTX's Airborne Sensor RF Design Department in McKinney, TX is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design, test, integration and documentation for RF systems and sub-systems, including antennas, radomes, sensors, waveguides and supporting electronics.

The candidate will supervise mechanical outlining, connector selection, and detailed drawings, applying GD&T and ANSI standards, with travel up to 25% and mentoring responsibilities for early-career engineers.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field from ABET-accredited university.
• 10+ years of experience in the design and manufacturing of electronics packaging for military and aerospace.
• Thorough knowledge of GD&T, ANSI drawing standards and first order analysis techniques.
• Ability to travel periodically to suppliers, manufacturing facilities and customer sites (up to 25%).
• Deep desire to mentor earlier career engineers.
• U.S. Citizenship and an active U.S. Security Clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Design tightly toleranced RF components.
• Create, refine, and release detailed drawings.
• Apply knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing to detail manufacturing standards for RF components and assemblies.
